Here we go then, Twelve from 2022, it’s an annual tradition and as usual features Street Photography. They’re supposed to represent my best work of the year. Each year I add the caveat that we know in reality any photographer, even working through a particularly fertile twelve months, is still likely to only produce maybe just one for two images that he or she considers ‘good’. If you’re a regular reader of this blog you’ll know that the twelve I pick at the time of writing are fluid and I could choose a different twelve photos twenty minutes later. I don’t actually have a policy on selection which is partly to blame, now I think about it a far from adequate filing system doesn’t help either. Some shots I remember, but can’t find the photos and selection is also dependent upon my current thoughts on photography. Could be that I’m thinking about light or storytelling and a narrative, possibly my current want is for layers or precise framing or some ambiguity. This time it’s all of those. It is without doubt a tough ask this year, in the best or my most prolific of years its absolute torture and let’s face it; twelve is a little optimistic in any case. I’m working with about six or seven months of photos as mentioned in my previous blogpost, meaning the volume of photographs is less. My advice is to lower your expectations. Nope, further than that…a little bit more…right, enough procrastination here they are:
And there we have it. All that remains for me to do is wish you a fabulous New Year. I sincerely hope that 2023 is a year in which you are healthier, you become wiser and happier.
As always my sincere thanks go to anyone taking the time to read this blog.
