That title is taken from one of my favourite songs, don’t laugh, it’s called “Windmills of Your Mind”. I have an eclectic musical taste let’s just leave it at that. Not sure why it resonates with me, I love the lyrics. I’m not a fan of the original, though I like both versions of the film that featured it “The Thomas Crown Affair”. Anyway, it must be sung by Alison Moyet, here’s the link, but don’t go disappearing quite yet. This is a really quick blog post, I promise, Scouts Honour…dib dib dob dob, or whatever it is they say, I have no idea because I was never in the Scouts.
A decision was made that I should be representing my photography in more realistic terms. Rather than individual images, or especially selected photos, I thought I’d upload a series of photographs taken in Bath during one two hour Street session. Candid scenes that caught my eye on the 25th September 2020. This is different than usual. I have to post this fairly quickly otherwise I’ll change my mind and sit on them. When I do that I gradually dismiss photos until i’m left with next to nothing and I’m never quite sure if I’ve given them a chance. Time for some bravery, by me and it has to be said, you. I haven’t included the out of focus absolutely crappy ones, where I’ve accidentally taken a shot of the pavement, obviously there’s no need for that. No black & white because they’ve not been converted, also today I was looking at colour and light. They’re essentially RAW images with minor tweaks in Lightroom. You’ve seen the first two, here’s the rest. I wonder which ones or one you would pick if you were curating, that is a rhetorical question, although if you wish you can comment. I find it difficult because of those bloody ‘windmills in my mind’! If you can’t be bothered to look through them all, and I don’t blame you, there’s a YouTube Slideshow at the end.
Here’s a few lines from that song:
Round like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning on an ever spinning reel
As the images unwind, like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind
Here’s that Youtube slideshow:
